Today’s post (#20 of 31) covers one of my favorite songs of all time…the band Del Amitri’s song, “Tell Her This”. I have been performing this song for over 30 years. I still have people approach me after I’ve sung it, wanting to know who wrote the song because they love it so much!  I love introducing folks to this fabulous band from Scotland. Musically speaking, this song’s somewhat discordant sound always reminds me of bagpipes.

I am joined by Tim Rairdon, my favorite step-son!  I’ve been trying to get Tim to perform with me for years. And, like his mom…he finally agreed. I’m so happy we could do this fantastic song together!  

A note from Tim: 

I received my first guitar - a blue sunburst Ibanez acoustic - from Dennis on Christmas morning 21 years ago. A guitar has been close by my side ever since, and while I’ve played in various garage bands over the years, this will be my first time performing together with Dennis. I chose a song that I’ve always loved hearing him play, a song I first heard around the same time he gifted me that first guitar.
