Welcome to Musical Chairs!-a project where I release a daily music video featuring myself performing with a rotating lineup of fellow musicians and loved ones.

Today’s post (#6 of 31) covers Yip Harburg’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. I don’t know where to begin to explain why I love this song….don’t we all?!
I am joined today by trumpet player extraordinaire, Dave Frohlichstein. Dave has literally played with everyone! Let me start with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross and Julie Andrews. He has also played with Dizzy Gillespie, Doc Severinsen, Benny Goodman, the Temptations, the Spinners and the O’Jays. He has performed in such musicals as Cats, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street and Evita, just to name a few!
Location note: St. Charles Place Steak House! This is a wonderful and iconic restaurant that has such a funky vibe. We played on the stage that I was lucky to perform on back in the 80’s (gulp). The food is fabulous and the surroundings will keep you mesmerized. For more information about St. Charles Place Steak House, go to: https://www.st-charlesplace.com/
Happy holidays! Please enjoy and share!
