Welcome to Musical Chairs!-a project where I release a daily music video featuring myself performing with a rotating lineup of fellow musicians and loved ones.

Today’s song (#7 of 31) covers the band America’s version of “Muskrat Love”.
I am joined today by my brother and mentor, Kevin O’Brien. Kevins’ musical prowess has inspired a multitude of humans over the years. From his humble beginnings as a founding member of the SARFs in the 1960’s, a band that performed all over the Chicago area, to his iconic performances every St. Patrick’s Day with his band The O’Brien Brothers at McNally’s Irish Pub, Kevin never disappoints! The O’Brien Brothers band included my brother Casey and Kevin’s children, all wonderful musicians in their own right.
Photo Note: This photo was taken on December 8th 1980 at the Geneva Mining Company Restaurant. Kevin and I are singing “Muskrat Love”
Kevin had this to say about performing this song together: “I have enjoyed seeing my brother Dennis grow with his musical and vocal abilities over the last five decades. I have always said he has the strongest voice in the family; especially, his harmonies. So, when asked what song I wanted to do as part of his project, ‘Muskrat Love’ was my first choice. We are covering the arrangement by America (1973). While maybe not my favorite America song, I have always enjoyed singing this song with Dennis and listening to his melodic harmony. We first sang this song together in the mid 1970’s and it never gets old. Thanks for including me with this project. Love you brother.”
Location note: Kevin’s home in Stone Lake, Wisconsin.
Happy holidays! Please enjoy and share!
