Today’s post (#17 of 31) covers The Traveling Wilbury’s “End of the Line”.
Released in 1988, it was the final track on their debut album. It has been said that The Traveling Wilbury’s were formed out of friendship, spontaneity (and some would say pure kismet). The band included Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison.
Guest Artist: Kelly O’Brien. Kelly and I grew up singing together. We were in a band (The O’Brien Spring Band) together for 5 years. Kelly loves this song and chose it to be one that we could do together. I love making music with ALL my brothers.
Location Note: Burntside Lodge, https://www.burntside.com/ the oldest remaining guest lodge in the Ely, Minnesota area. Nestled among the pines on the southern shore of Burntside Lake, Burntside is a summer resort which has been welcoming guests since 1913 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Early information shares stories of guests enjoying hospitable lodging in accommodations at what would become Burntside Lodge as early as 1911...over 100 years ago. Ray and Nancy LaMontagne purchased Burntside Lodge in 1941 and today it is still operated by Ray and Nancy’s son Lou, his wife Lonnie and their adult children Nicole and Jacques. 81 years later, the LaMontagne family continues to welcome guests to this northwoods retreat.
Happy holidays! Please enjoy and share!
